This body of work focuses on trust between strangers in our society. Each work is made using a digital camera with an external flash sufficient to overpower the natural lighting in the outdoor environments the images were made, enabling the visual isolation of the person in the images. The individuals were approached on the streets of Naarm/Melbourne without prior organisation and asked if they would like to participate in the project. They were asked to close their eyes for the photo, creating a sense for the viewer that the images could be of someone sleeping. In agreeing to participate they agreed to become vulnerable to a stranger, putting trust in someone they had never met, and would never meet again. I am grateful to these strangers.
