Naksa Rally

On Sunday 7th June 2026 a rally of approximately a thousand protesters marched through the streets of Naarm, Australia to commemorate the 59th anniversary of the Palestinian Naksa. The Naksa (which translates from Arabic to ‘the setback’) was the result of Israel hostility in the region culminating in the ‘six day war’ in 1967.

During the conflict the state of Israel stole lands from its neighbours in the Golan Heights and the West Bank. This action displaced up to 325,000 Palestinians, many of whom were made refugees during the Nakba in 1948.
