Hi I’m Michael (he/him), I live on the unceded lands of the Bunurong people of the Kulin nation in the western suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. During the day I serve full-time as a union organiser and I get out as often as I can to work on the various photography projects or capture the day to day wonders around me.
Questions?
Why do I do a free raffle?
I am always exploring the ways that I can give back to the communities I take photos in. The raffle is one way I’m exploring that. I’m also keen to help people have more art in their homes, something that can often be inaccessible for a lot of people.
How do you enter the free raffle?
If we met and I gave you one of my cards, hey thanks for dropping by! To enter the raffle for a free framed print you simply need to complete the form below. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out.
I’ll contact everyone who as entered when I’ve completed a raffle draw. There’s no set date for the draw as it depends on factors like when I can afford to generate a prize or the number of entries. If you don’t win, I’ll keep you in for two more draws, so you get a total of three chances to win. Good Luck!
How is my information stored and used?
Entries are stored in a document held in the encrypted cloud services of Proton. I will delete your information within 30 days of winning the raffle, after organising delivery of your prize, or after you have been unsuccessful in 3 draws. You can request I delete your information before your three draws are complete at any time. The information you provide for the raffle won’t be used for any other purpose other than the raffle without your express written permission. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me on michaelsphotography.au@protonmail.com
What is the street library project?
Street libraries are community organised free curbside libraries. They operate on the honour system, there’s no card, no membership, just people creating the world they want to see.
In line with my desire to make photography more accessible and away from algorithms I am distributing copies of my photo zine at mostly my own cost to these community run libraries.
If you would like to help, you can make a one off or ongoing donation from as little as a single dollar here. I also post photos of me putting the project into action there as well. The donations help to get the zines printed, I use my own time and resources to get them distributed to their street library homes.
Are you in one of my online photos?
It’s such a pleasure to cross paths with you. Reach out via the contact details below with a selfie attached. I’d be delighted to say hi and offer you a 6×4 inch print of the photo you’re in. It can make a nice gift for family or friends.
Do I use A.I. in any photos?
No.
