Thousands of protesters march through central Melbourne during a rally marking the third anniversary of the start of the Gaza genocide. A group of approximately a dozen pro-Israel counter-protesters gathered near the main rally outside the State Library of Victoria, with a significant police presence keeping the two sides separated. During the pro-Palestine rally, the crowd heard from Victorian senator LIDIA THORPE, Palestinian educator NOURA MANSOUR, Greens MP GABRIELLE DE VIETRI, Palestinian writer and lawyer SARA SALEH, Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network’s HIBA FARRA, Jewish Council of Australia member SARAH SCHWARTZ, and Palestinian activist NOUR SALMAN. The rally then marched down Swanston Street chanting, turning left onto Collins Street and stopping outside the Victorian office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) before marching back to the State Library of Victoria.
